Vivek Alumni Association (registered charitable trust) is an Organisation formed in 2011, functioned by the former students of Vivek Vidyalaya School & College located at Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon West, Mumbai 400062.
The school was formed in the year 1962 by visionary Founders who prioritised quality education to all & were inspired by the thoughts of ‘Swami Vivekananda’. Vivek Alumni Association also takes it’s aspirations from the vision of ‘Swami Vivekananda’, to make the nation self-reliant & a global leader.
The Association has evolved in the past so many years with many of our former students having actively participated in the development of the ideology & today the association functions seamlessly under the Leadership of Smt. Jayashree Unni – student of the 1st passing out batch of 1969, a Teacher at Vivek Vidyalaya retiring as the Vice Principal in the year 2011. She was invited to join the Alumni Association in the same year after which she functioned passionately & selflessly as the Vice President until 2024, being unanimously chosen as the current Chairperson of the Association. Today, under her leadership, the current team of members consists of former students coming from established backgrounds from the field of Education, Administration & Business, including a good mixed bag of generation’s right from the initial batches to the Millennial Generation to Gen Z.
Ideology
To bring back the era of the legendary administrator ‘Smt. Chellamal Murthy’.
Vivek Vidyalaya witnessed its most glorious days under the leadership of former Principal Smt. Chellamal Murthy. The educational institute witnessed exponential growth & popularity in the arena of “Education, Sports & Extracurricular Activities” alike, under her single handed leadership. Vivek Alumni Association aspires to bring those days back for the current students pursuing their dreams at Vivek Vidyalaya & to function as in ideal ex-students Organisation who takes care of their own as well.
The Association is focused on key aspects:
1. To work hand-in-hand with the Vivek Education Society in recreating & rebuilding an ideal infrastructure for the current students in the arena of Quality Education, Sports & Extracurricular Activities by means of financial support as well as personal overview engagement.
2. To ensure the well-being of as many as or all of our former students in the field of Medical Wellness & Health (senior retired alumnus), Finding Professional opportunities, Business Opportunities by means of basic Financial Support, Intra Alumnus Networking & by Incorporation of Additional Resources.
3. To bring the entire Alumnus Community under one roof by means of Annual Events, Get-togethers, Reunions etc for unified accomplishment the above-mentioned activities.
4. To organise outdoor/overnight events with the purpose of bringing together various generations of Alumnus to discuss ideas of growth & generate charitable funds simultaneously.
5. To maintain constant communication with all retired Teachers, ensuring their well-being in terms of health & wellness.
6. To engage with various Alumnus batches to generate Charitable Donations for projects taken up by the Association.
Vision
To empower the current generation of children studying at Vivek Vidyalaya by facilitating them with appropriate infrastructure required to make them self-reliant in terms of enhancing their skillsets, aptitude & attitude needed for a better future.
The Association is focused on the following key aspects:
Empowerment; To provide long-term, self-sustainable & a sturdy infrastructure in the arena of Sports, Extracurricular Activities, Enhanced Education Opportunities by means of Optimum Financial Input, Engagement by Established Alumnus in specialised fields of Art, Business, Sports & various such arenas of specialisation. The idea is to make every child self-reliant to ensure the brightest future created by themselves with their own honed skills & competency.
Contributing to making India a Global Leader; Transforming our Nation into a ‘Self-Reliant & Advanced India – आत्मनिर्भर और विकसित भारत’. To identify families of current students coming from financially strained backgrounds with the help of the school management & give them financial support in terms of Annual fee payments, financing them in terms of Medical Treatments for critical ailments etc. This process has been successfully initiated in the year 2025 & will be an annual repetitive initiative. Initiatives such as these which are possible only due to the contributions made by the large-hearted community of ex-students, further empower & inspire the said parents to transform their endless struggles into positive opportunities. The unexpected financial backing brings about an unseen happiness for the said families which in turn creates a motivation for the said parents to do better for their children which finally transforms into a positive change, not only in the outlook of the said parents but also the attitude of all such children.
We aspire to provide an array of choices to each & every child at Vivek Vidyalaya to pick & choose from every single opportunity created by the mutual efforts of the Association & the Education Society. Only by creating such opportunities & giving a platform to each child who is as deserving as the other, will India become a Global Leader & The renewed Capital of Global Trade, just as it was centuries ago. The only way to do this is by eradicating poverty which is only possible by Facilitating Opportunities to both Parents & Children alike.
