Vivek Alumni Association Contributes ₹60,000 to send Sweet Boxes to Soldiers on Batchmate Capt R Subramanian's 26th Martyrdom Anniversary. On 19th June 2026, members of the Vivek Alumni Association (V.A.A.) gathered to pay tribute to Veergati Capt. R. Subramanian (Batch of 1991) on his 26th martyrdom day and to honour his legacy of service, courage, and patriotism As part of V.A.A.'s continued commitment towards serving the nation and supporting our brave armed forces, a cheque was ceremonially handed over to the parents of Capt. Subra - Smt. & Shri. S. Ramachandran, towards the Diwali Sweets Initiative for soldiers serving at our nation's borders. This initiative, led by Capt. Subra's parents, is a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to the women and men of our armed forces who safeguard our nation, often spending festivals away from their loved ones so that we may celebrate ours in peace. 15,000 sweet boxes were sent in 2024, which increased to 18,500 boxes in 2025. This year, V.A.A. decided to raise our contribution by 20% from the ₹50,000 contributed last year. The gathering at the residence of Smt. & Shri. S. Ramachandran was a meaningful occasion, bringing together fellow Vivians to remember a beloved alumnus and reaffirm our collective respect for the sacrifices made by our soldiers. Jai Hind! This initiative is a small gesture of gratitude towards the Women and Men who safeguard our Nation, often spending festivals away from their families so that we may celebrate ours in peace. History: Ambeshwar Devrai Temple was built more than 400 years ago - an ancient temple located in the Garudhzadi area of Amba Ghat - considered active & responsive to devotees' prayers. It is also associated with the Ambeshwar Devrai, a sacred grove that embodies the tradition of dedicating forest land to a deity for preservation and ecological conservation.
